We’re halfway through Autumn (already!?) which means it’s time tp start preparing for winter! Instead of purging your closet, look at what you’ve got and work out how you can build on it. Investing in a few key pieces for the season ahead is an easy and cost effective way to stay stylish this winter.
We’ve taken the stress out of watching endless runway shows to give you the top 5 must haves for the chilly season.
If there’s one trend that’s proved popular amongst the fashion elite, it’s a great pair of statement boots. Whether they’re ankle, pointed, or thigh high – they’re in! We’re loving these in metallic or glossy tones. Invest in a pair of show stopping boots to compliment any outfit.
As we enter the cooler months, the classic leather jacket has made a return once again – surprise, surprise! Year after year we see celebrities rocking the trend and who can blame them? They look great! Draped over your shoulders for an evening look, or paired with some ripped denim and a white tee, this is one piece we swear by.
Whilst we love a classic black trench, bright, bold colours took over the runway this season. Coined the hottest trend for winter, a bright coloured trench is the item you need. Alternatively, drapers are also a great piece to invest in for those nights where it’s just beginning to cool down, but not cold enough for trench. They’re similar in design but significantly lighter, making it the perfect addition to your wardrobe.
Wide Leg Pants
Put your skinny’s back in the closet ladies, this season is all about wide legs and palazzos. Paired with a crop or relaxed fitting shirt they’re bound to suit almost any occasion. The trick to rocking this look is tailoring. The hem should just skim the ground, with only the tip of your shoe showing. If you’re a little on the short side and are wondering how on earth these could possibly look flattering on you, stress no more! Wide-legs look AMAZING cropped at the ankle and give the illusion of longer legs. Just pop on a pair of heels and bam! Instant supermodel.
One of our favourite trends has made a modern comeback in a big way. Inject some colour into your wardrobe this season by investing in a statement faux fur coat. Blending in is not an option with trending colours such as pink, green and blue.
